TLDR New apple store app won't allow me to schedule a genius bar appt. I don't think any amount of turning my phone off and on at the behest of a chat rep is going to fix my cracked glass. I get that some problems can be solved via troubleshooting, but I tried to book an appointment for a cracked iPhone display and received the same options. This is starting to feel a little more like a one sided relationship each year. Turns out apple just wants me to pay a premium for apple gear, all the while they're making it harder and harder to get support for my macbook, iPhone, iPad, apple watch etc. The only options I can find for support are to mail in my iPhone, chat with a rep, call apple, or schedule a time for apple to call me. I looked around and couldn't find an easy way to schedule an appointment, I was sure I was missing something. I went on the apple store app to see how that effected wait times for an appointment. Then slowly they started scheduling hours out, then days, and now I often can't get an appointment for a week (especially if I'm not free in the middle of the work week/day)įast forward to today, and I see that my local store has just doubled in size. Then eventually I had to schedule an appointment, but I'd be seen within the hour. When the iPhone first came out I loved the fact that I could walk into an apple store and get some help with it. I think we all know the answer and it bums me out. This subreddit is not endorsed or sponsored by Apple Inc. If you'd like to view their content together, click here.
